FRANKLIN, Tenn., -- Nissan North America, Inc., today announced that Scott Becker, currently vice president of Legal and Government Affairs, and general counsel, will become senior vice president, Administration and Finance on Aug. 15.

In his new role, Becker will be responsible for all Finance, Legal and Government Affairs, Information Systems, NMAC, Product Economic Control, Corporate Planning and Program Management Office, Organization Development, Security, Real Estate, Corporate Aviation and Internal Audit functions for Nissan's operations in the Americas region. He also will serve as a member of Nissan's management committee for the Americas.

Becker succeeds Dominique Thormann, who will assume a post being announced by Renault in France.

Andrew Tavi, currently assistant general counsel, Legal, will succeed Becker as vice president of Legal and Government Affairs, and general counsel, also effective Aug. 15.

Becker joined Nissan in July 2006 from Sears Holdings Corp., where he served as vice president and deputy general counsel. Prior to that, he was with D'Ancona & Pflaum LLC, a Chicago-based law firm. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Chicago and a juris doctor degree from University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Thormann joined Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., in Tokyo in 1999 as deputy general manager of investor relations and financial strategy. After that, he held a variety of positions in Japan and Europe before assuming his current post. Before joining Nissan, Thormann worked for Renault in the investor relations department and for Renault Credit International as treasurer.

"Dominique's oversight and leadership have been essential to the successful move of the Nissan Americas headquarters to Franklin, Tennessee. He also has played a vital role in advancing the company's electric-vehicle strategy during a challenging period for the industry," said Carlos Tavares, Nissan's chairman of the management committee for the Americas region. "On behalf of the entire organization, we wish him all the best as he takes the next step in his career with Nissan and Renault."
